Vietnam – 3-Week Itinerary (2026)

Last updated on : January 28, 2026

Hạ Long, Vietnam

We are currently preparing for our big departure to Vietnam – a journey of about three weeks that promises to be rich in discoveries, spectacular landscapes, and cultural immersion.

As of today, we plan to drop our backpacks in the following destinations:

  • Da Nang: To start the journey gently, between the sea, temples, and mountain landscapes;
  • Hoi An: For its unique atmosphere, lantern-lit streets, heritage, and timeless charm;
  • Hue: To dive into Vietnam’s imperial history and explore its cultural richness;
  • Ninh Binh (Tam Coc): For its spectacular rice fields and karst formations, often referred to as the “Halong Bay on land”;
  • Hanoi and Lan Ha Bay (overnight cruise): To experience the contrast between the vibrant energy of the capital and the serenity of seascapes.

As a bonus, we will also enjoy a one-day stopover in Bangkok, Thailand, on the way there, as well as three days in Japan on our return, to explore Tokyo and Narita.

This journey represents much more to us than a simple itinerary: it is a new adventure, shaped by exploration, slow travel, wonder, and meaningful encounters.

This itinerary was designed with the intention of varying rhythms, landscapes, and experiences, while prioritizing a slower and more immersive way of traveling.

Stay tuned, as I will update this page after our return with our actual itinerary, practical tips, budget, photos, and videos.
